The base has a simple form firmly rooted in the aesthetics of Scandinavian modernism—a compact, cylindrical body transitions into a slender, slightly curved neck topped with a lampshade holder.

The base is coated with a matte, deep blue glaze with violet-navy undertones. Its understated form is accented by a decorative detail in the form of a regular, fine relief running around the base, just below the narrowing section. This subtle decoration beautifully illustrates the character of Klase Höganäs ceramics, which combine simplicity of form with handcrafted surface detailing.
