For your consideration is a rare, beautifully preserved original antique 1907 lithograph print titled "Poverty & Riches" by the celebrated American illustrator Bessie Pease Gutmann. Famous for her sentimental, allegorical depictions of early 20th-century life, this poignant Edwardian-era pairing contrasts a wealthy woman holding a lapdog ("Poverty") against a content working-class mother cradling her infant child ("Riches").
This authentic period print features a clean plate-sunk impression border and sharp, detailed typography. It remains beautifully housed in its original, ornately carved wood and gesso frame finished in a classic antiqued gold tone. The reverse retains its authentic, undisturbed late-Edwardian framing assembly, with heavily aged backing paper.
