The imagery itself evokes a Romanticized Renaissance or Medieval falconry scene. This aesthetic was popular during the Historicist and Victorian eras of the late 1800s, when weavers frequently looked back to classical European portraiture for design inspiration. The down pillow is backed in a camel colored velvet with two tone bullion silk blue and yellow fringe. The pillow was bought by a renowned Boston decorator from " a lovely antique shop" in London.
