Striking signed and dated 1997 bronze sculpture depicting a kneeling female angel with dramatic outstretched wings. The figure is rendered in an expressive Modernist style with simplified facial features, elongated proportions and a beautifully textured, hand-worked surface.
The sweeping wings create a dramatic silhouette and give the sculpture a strong presence from every viewing angle. The bronze has developed a rich dark patina with areas of warm bronze showing through, emphasizing the irregular sculpted surface.
