This is a magnificent and monumental vintage Chinese Rosewood Screen featuring a large, hand-painted Famille Rose Porcelain Plaque.
The plaque depicts a serene and detailed landscape of the "Fuchun River in Spring" (inscribed in calligraphy at the top). The painting features layered mountains, drifting mist, twisting pine trees, and small pavilions near the water, painted in the traditional Chinese "blue and green landscape" style.
The porcelain is seamlessly set into a heavy, carved dark rosewood frame. The piece stands on a substantial, beautifully carved base with side pillars (standing jaws) and a central panel carved with auspicious cloud motifs.
Standing at an impressive 23.6 inches tall and weighing over 15 lbs, this is a true "statement piece". It is perfect for a prominent display in a foyer, dining room, or library.
