The vessel showcases rhythmic, deep sgraffito fluting and wave carving around the exterior walls, cutting through the outer slip to reveal the warm, iron-rich red stoneware clay body beneath. The interior features a reduction-fired glaze in subtle toasted-cream and oatmeal tones with delicate specks, creating a rich contrast against the tactile, matte sculptural exterior. Signed "NORA" on the base.

Acquired directly from the distinguished estate collection of Eve Paige Spencer, whose work is held in the permanent collection of the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery at Scripps College, California, and her husband, writer and art collector Donner Spencer.
