This striking, vintage Artist Proof print in dazzling color and sweeping size pays homage to Matisse's odalisque. The daring hues and fluid paint strokes are reminiscent of the fearless, early 20th century Fauvist & Expressionist movements that had such and influence on Max's work in the 1980s, illustrated in the bold color palette and graceful, energetic brushwork of 'Reclining in Red.'
Created and printed almost four decades ago, Max's voluptuous subject is a sensual creature reposed in luxury.
