The vessel has a broad rounded body rising to a flared neck and rim, supported on a circular pedestal foot. A pair of sculptural elephant-head handles flank the neck, their elongated trunks forming graceful loop handles.

Throughout the vase, colorful enamel decoration is set within intricately patterned and incised metalwork. Stylized floral and foliate motifs alternate with geometric and archaistic designs, creating an especially decorative surface from every angle.

The unmarked underside shows a darkened surface and age-related wear. No maker or country-of-origin mark has been identified.

An appealing small-scale Asian decorative object with particularly strong color, texture and sculptural presence, well suited to a collected Traditional, Chinoiserie or eclectic interior. See less
