Featured in this listing is an amazing piece of stoneware Americana. It is an antique salt-glazed crock featuring a cobalt blue hand-painted design, often called a "bee sting" pattern. Three gallon size.
It is perhaps linked to Red Wing Stoneware from the late 19th century, around 1880. The interior of the crock has the classic brown "Albany Ship" finish and has two lug handles near the rim for easier carrying. Three very small chips as seen in photos.
