The whimsical composition depicts a gathering of children rendered in a wonderfully loose, impressionistic manner. Soft washes of coral, pink, aqua, ochre and pale blue give the piece an airy, almost dreamlike quality characteristic of decorative figurative artwork of the early 1970s.
The reverse is marked “Hilda’s Little People © 1972, Rindom Galleries, Inc.” and also bears the original Rindom Galleries, Inc., Hallandale, Florida information—excellent period provenance.
Presented under glass with a dramatic black surround and slim silver-tone metal frame. Its small scale makes it particularly attractive for a gallery wall, bookshelf display or collection of vintage Florida and Palm Beach-area art. See less
