An extraordinary and heavy antique Bakelite / Faturan carved covered vessel. Carved in an archaistic ceremonial form, this piece features deep, intricate relief carving throughout the body and lid, complete with stylized dragon or beast handles.
Appearing nearly black in ambient light, it reveals a rich, glowing cherry-red translucency and orange internal "stardust" undertones when backlit. Highly sought-after by collectors of rare antique resins, amber substitutes, and fine carved vessels.
