Designed to give a child additional height at the family dining table, this petite chair has a 20.5-inch seat height—slightly higher than a conventional dining chair—without the tray and proportions of a traditional infant high chair.

The decorative crest features an intricate floral and scrolling motif above five finely turned spindles. Additional turned detailing continues through the legs and distinctive double front stretchers. The warm oak finish has developed attractive color and patina from more than a century of use.

The woven cane seat remains intact and presents beautifully. The wood retains age-appropriate surface wear, including scattered scratches, small marks, finish variation and patina consistent with an antique piece.

With its unusually petite proportions and highly decorative turn-of-the-century design, this is a wonderful surviving example of antique children’s furniture. It would make a distinctive accent in a collected traditional interior, nursery, child’s room, kitchen or dining room.
