An exceptional mid-century modern hand-blown cased art glass vase, masterfully executed in a vibrant Murano style. This striking, heavy vessel features a rich translucent orange ground adorned with an intricate, organically combed "tiger stripe" or pulled-feather (Fenicio) pattern in deep amber and dark brown tones.
The vase is crowned with an elegant, asymmetric ruffled rim that beautifully accentuates the multi-layered casing technique. Indicative of high-end Venetian art glass production from premier 1960s-1970s furnaces (such as Vincenzo Nason or Salviati), the base is meticulously ground flat and highly polished to a flawless glass finish.
Boasting an impressive, substantial weight of nearly 4.5 pounds, this finely crafted statement piece offers beautiful clarity, brilliant coloration, and an commanding presence perfect for any sophisticated MCM interior or art glass collection.
