Description:
Presenting an absolutely stunning, substantial, and heavy matching pair of vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel vases. Standing at an impressive 16.93 inches tall and weighing over 27 pounds for the pair, these vases make a truly monumental statement.
Set against a brilliant, imperial yellow ground densely patterned with ruyi clouds, each vase features the iconic and highly auspicious "Dragon and Phoenix" motif. One vase features a majestic, winding red and green dragon, while the other depicts a multi-colored phoenix in flight, both surrounded by vivid floral sprays and clouds.
The vases have an elegant, flattened baluster shape with a dramatic flared neck. They are flanked by two intricately cast, heavily gilded bronze dragon handles (ears) on each side. The interiors are fully gilded, adding a luxurious golden gleam. The tops and bases feature classic lotus petal and geometric borders. The base of each vase is also enameled with florals and bears a central square gilt seal.
Condition: Excellent condition. The enamel is vibrant and intact with no visible missing pieces, chips, or cracks. The gilt bronze handles and polished interiors are bright. Minor surface wear and natural patina are consistent with age and gentle display. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
Please Note: This listing is for the pair of vases. Due to their extreme weight (12.35 kg / 27.2 lbs for the set), they are exceptionally sturdy and are true statement pieces, ideal for a grand entryway, a large console table, or a premium office setting.
