Each table features two hinged drop leaves, allowing it to transition from a compact 19-inch-wide end table to an impressive 34-inch-wide surface when both leaves are raised. Gracefully shaped wood supports beneath the leaves, substantial turned legs and stretcher bases give the pair wonderful traditional character.

The warm medium-brown finish highlights the attractive wood grain, while the single drawers add useful storage. Each drawer is lined with charming vintage-style “old newspaper” print paper, adding an unexpected bit of character when opened. Both tables retain Riverside Furniture identification inside the drawers. The decorative clear glass-style drawer finials/pulls are replacements and are not original to the tables.

The pair is in good vintage condition with visible wear consistent with age and use. The tops show scratches, marks, areas of finish wear and variations in coloration. Additional scuffs and finish loss are present around portions of the feet, lower legs and stretcher bases. These imperfections are shown in the detailed photographs and contribute to the tables’ authentically vintage appearance.

Both drawers operate properly. The center guide on one table has been recently replaced. Both drop-leaf mechanisms function as intended.

With their unusually versatile drop-leaf design, these can serve as compact living-room end tables, bedside tables or occasional tables, then expand when a larger surface is needed. A handsome and functional matched pair for a traditional, English Country, cottage or collected interior.
