A striking example of 1970s Canadian Brutalist design, this sculptural headboard by Tobago Furniture combines the warmth of richly figured walnut with bold, architectural detailing. Tobago is known for distinctive Canadian-made Mid-Century furniture, with surviving examples of its brutalist unique designs.
Made in 1978, that magical time period when Modern design ends and Postmodernism begins.
Big Walnut body with Aluminum panel sidings, and the most handsome front side you've ever seen. The Plinth-Pedestal base is wonderful allowing the artistry of the body to shine. Scour the world wide web, and you'll likely come up short, this bold beauty is insanely rare. In 9/10 condition, minimal wear to base at rear side, hardly noticeable. 9 strong smooth drawers with chromed handles, look and feel hardly used. Use as an everyday triple Dresser or blow away all your guests as a Statement Credenza. An extremely rare find!!!
The drawers are 5' in height, 22" wide, and 17.5" in depth.
The mirrors were removed in some of the pictures to take better close-up pictures of the Credenza. The mirrors come with their back support frame to attach them to the back of the Credenza and also have a metal wired cord to hang them on the wall.
The mirrors measure 45.5" high, 25.5" wide, and 2.5" in depth or thickness.
