This is a magnificent set of three vintage Chinese Cloisonné (Jingtai Lan) Buddha statues, depicting the Western Paradise Triad (西方三圣). The set consists of Amitabha Buddha in the center, flanked by the Bodhisattvas Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin) and Mahasthamaprapta.
Each figure is masterfully crafted with gilt bronze faces, hands, and lotus bases, combined with intricate wire-inlaid enamel (cloisonné) robes in rich hues of turquoise blue, red, green, and purple. They are seated in serene meditation poses upon individual, heavily gilded lotus thrones, each backed by a flame-shaped halo.
Weighing almost 6 lbs in total and measuring 7.1 inches tall, this exquisite trio is a striking, museum-quality display. They make an impressive centerpiece for an altar, a high-end bookshelf, or a curio cabinet. A stunning representation of Chinese Buddhist art and metalwork.
