Here is a mid-20th century Queen Anne style side table featuring a beautifully detailed removable brass tray over a rich mahogany wood base. The tray is wonderfully ornate, with elaborate engraved foliate and floral decoration, a pierced gallery and raised decorative border. I especially love the way the pierced brass gallery rises above the wood top, creating a delicate openwork detail that is particularly beautiful when viewed from the side.
The mahogany base has classic cabriole legs, shaped corner brackets and pad feet, with a finished recessed wood top beneath the tray. The tray can be removed for serving, while the table remains attractive and fully functional on its own. An elegant and versatile piece that works beautifully beside a sofa or chair.
