An exceptional and highly collectible cased opalescent glass "Espalion" vase, designed by the master of Art Deco glassmaking, René Lalique, circa 1927. This exquisite piece was crafted at the renowned Lalique glassworks in Wingen-sur-Moder, Alsace, France.
The vase features a beautifully sculptural relief of stylized fern leaf motifs cascading down its body. The delicate play of milky opalescence catches the light remarkably, glowing with warm fiery-amber tones when backlit and shifting into subtle translucent icy-blue hues against darker backgrounds.
This historic creation is clearly signed at the base with the engraved mark: "R.Lalique France N° 996".
