Description:
Presenting a magnificent and beautifully detailed vintage Chinese cloisonné incense burner (censer), crafted in the classic archaic tripod "Ding" shape.

The body of the censer is vibrantly decorated with intricate, hand-wired cloisonné enamel (掐丝珐琅) in a striking coral red ground, featuring swirling pink, blue, and white lotus scrolls and floral motifs. The brass interior is smooth and highly polished.

The piece features heavily gilded bronze accents. It stands on three sturdy, curved cabriole legs (兽头足) and features two prominent, beautifully sculpted gilded dragon head handles rising from the shoulders. The domed lid is surmounted by a magnificent, fully sculpted gilded bronze lion (or mythical beast) finial, guarding the pierced ventilation panels used for burning incense. The base bears a cast bronze square seal reading "大明宣德年制" (Made in the Great Ming Xuande Period), a traditional reverence mark. See less
