Description:
Presenting a magnificent and incredibly heavy (2100g) vintage Chinese cloisonné incense burner (censer), crafted in the classic archaic tripod "Ding" shape.

The body of the censer is vibrantly decorated with intricate, hand-wired cloisonné enamel (掐丝珐琅) in shades of turquoise, deep red, and royal blue. It features scrolling floral motifs and a dynamic, highly detailed mythical dragon painted in rich reds and purples against a bright turquoise ground. The base bears a cast bronze square seal reading "乾隆年制" (Made in the Qianlong Period), a traditional reverence mark.

The piece is beautifully highlighted by heavy cast bronze elements with an aged, rich patina. It stands on three sturdy cabriole legs, each topped with an elaborately sculpted roaring beast head (mask). It features two large, curved handles (ears) rising from the shoulders. The domed lid is surmounted by a magnificent, fully sculpted bronze lion (or mythical beast) finial, guarding a fire pearl, with cut-out ventilation panels on the lid. See less
