This fine contemporary studio porcelain vessel is crafted in the signature "Yan Porcelain" (Yan Zhen) technique by artist Wu Yan Zhen (吴燕振). Featuring an elegant flattened oval silhouette, the piece is fully encased in a hand-gilded gold leaf finish, overlaid with delicate incised aquatic botanicals and lotus pad motifs. The focal point features vivid, hand-painted crimson goldfish floating on either face—a classic motif in Chinese art symbolizing good fortune, wealth, and abundance.
The underside retains the original artist/workshop maker's label confirming the authentic Yan Zhen gold-foil porcelain application. The interior is finished in a smooth, dark contrasting glaze, and the base includes its original black felt protective lining.
An ideal statement piece for Chinoiserie accents, mantel styling, console arrangements, or fine porcelain collections.
