This is a superb vintage Chinese wood carving, meticulously hand-carved from premium Boxwood (Huangyangmu). The sculpture depicts the Buddhist Triad (Western Paradise), featuring Amitabha Buddha seated in the center on a cloud-like pedestal, flanked by the Bodhisattvas Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin) and Mahasthamaprapta standing below.
The piece is a masterpiece of detailed carving, integrating elegant figures with elements of nature, including twisted pine trees, auspicious clouds, and a rugged rockery base. The carvers have captured the serene facial expressions and the graceful, flowing robes of the deities with incredible precision.
