This historic piece depicts a traditional feathered neck ornament worn by high-ranking individuals in the Pacific Islands, recorded during Captain James Cook’s third voyage. The crescent-shaped collar is elaborately constructed with rows of feathers and distinctive patterns, topped by five stylized forms and tied with a ceremonial cord.
