The artwork is the material transposition of a nocturnal vision, a bad dream exorcised and transformed into a majestic totem of pure functional art. Through the fragmentation and random cutting of the metal, the light pierces the darkness, trapping the unrest in a sculptural form with a post-industrial and contemporary aesthetic. The result is a piece of theatrical magnetism, capable of dominating the space by projecting dramatic and fascinating interplays of light and shadow on the surrounding walls.

the artwork is conceived and entirely hand-forged in italy, within the parma-based atelier of independent designer dario nasuti. The constructive rigor and surgical precision in treating the material reflect an exceptional professional heritage: over thirty years of a career at the highest echelons of international luxury fashion. Having served for nine years as the ceo of a japanese multinational corporation that owned iconic brands such as jil sander, the author now applies the same obsessive "sartorial" attention to raw metal, balancing volumes, shapes, and contrasting textures.

manufacturing and kinetic sculpture
the structure stands at an impressive height of 1.80 meters (70.8 inches) in a seemingly chaotic yet structurally perfect arrangement. The composition consists of 11 solid steel spheres, divided into four different diameters (10, 15, 20, and 28 cm). The production process shuns any industrial standardization: each individual sphere is first drawn and then manually cut and pierced to create completely asymmetrical openings. This artisanal process makes mass reproduction impossible, ensuring that each piece is entirely unique in the world. Finally, the steel is hand-brushed and polished to achieve a highly refined satin finish, smooth and silky to the touch.

lighting engineering and "bespoke" philosophy
the visual magic of "incubi" is amplified by rigorous lighting design. Housed within each sphere is an led bulb proportioned to the casing's diameter, all strictly featuring a mirror-chrome dome. This technical choice acts as a total anti-glare system: the light bounces off the internal steel walls of the sphere without ever directly hitting the observer's eye.
designed to interact with the most sophisticated interior design, the artwork is fully customizable (bespoke). The prototype plays on a disruptive pop contrast, pairing the brushed metal with a bold fluorescent green textile power cable (featuring a transparent foot switch). Upon request, the designer offers the possibility to powder-coat the spheres in any ral color, galvanize them in precious nuances of silver and gold, or change the wiring color, making "incubi" a chameleon-like, tailor-made sculpture.
