Exquisite vintage four-piece tea and coffee service by Wheeling Decorating Co., featuring the highly decorative “Doves, Roses & Daisies” pattern with lavish hand-applied 22K gold decoration.
The set includes a tall architectural coffee pot with fitted lid, coordinating teapot with lid, covered sugar bowl, and creamer. Each piece features an elaborate all-over floral motif with delicate blossoms and foliage rendered in rich raised gold decoration, complemented by sculptural handles, finials, and beautifully shaped silhouettes.
The combination of geometric forms and intensely gilded floral decoration gives this service a distinctly early 20th-century aesthetic that works beautifully in maximalist, Hollywood Regency, traditional, or eclectic interiors. The substantial gold presence makes it especially striking displayed as a decorative collection, barware vignette, or formal tea and coffee service.
The undersides are marked with Wheeling Decorating Co. marks and/or “Hand Painted 22 K Gold” decoration marks. The set is believed to date to approximately the 1920s–1930s.
A particularly desirable complete grouping, including both the coffee pot and teapot, rather than a smaller creamer-and-sugar pairing.
