An elegant Venetian glass mirror, circa 1940, distinguished by its refined octagonal silhouette and delicate hand-worked decorative details.
The central mirror plate is surrounded by a broad mirrored border finely etched with graceful floral and foliate motifs. Twisted clear-glass rope elements frame each section, while the corners are embellished with charming applied glass flowers, leaves and ribbon-like details in subtle warm amber and golden tones.
The combination of etched mirror, sculptural glasswork and restrained coloration creates a wonderfully light and jewel-like effect. Its medium scale makes it particularly versatile, offering the decorative richness of a traditional Venetian mirror without overwhelming an interior.
A beautiful example of mid 20th-century Venetian craftsmanship, sophisticated enough for a formal setting yet equally effective as an accent within a contemporary interior.
This mirror is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
