Offered for sale is a large abtract painting in black, white, and muted gray tones that are created with some impasto textures. This bold work is accented by a central horizontal block of vibrant red and orange pigments. The painting is by the American artist Katherine Langley (1942-20224) and is signed to the left. It has been recently reframed in a thin dark floating frame.

Artist Katherine T. "Kitty" Langley was a prominent Western New York artist based out of Niagara Falls. She developed a distinctive, dramatic style of painting during a prolific 60-year career. In 1959, Langley won the prestigious "Best of Show" prize at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Her works are prized and highly collected.
