Description:
Presenting a magnificent and heavily detailed Chinese gilt bronze covered jar (General's jar / Ginger jar), crafted in the opulent style of the Qing Dynasty Imperial Court.
The entire jar, including the lid and base, is masterfully worked in continuous high-relief repoussé and chasing technique. The dense surface features multiple coiling dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst swirling, deeply carved auspicious clouds. The intricate details of the dragons' scales, whiskers, and claws are wonderfully articulated, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship. The domed lid features a carved round finial and a matching dragon design, sitting atop a polished brass rim.
The base bears a deeply cast square seal reading "乾隆御制" (Made by Imperial Command of the Qianlong Emperor), a traditional reverence mark often found on later high-quality bronze works.
Condition: Excellent condition. The gilding is bright, vibrant, and intact. No dents, cracks, or major scratches observed. Minor surface wear and natural patina to the deeply recessed areas are consistent with age and display. Please refer to all photos for full details.
