Beautiful Chinese blue‑and‑white lidded general jar, decorated with classic double‑happiness (囍) characters amid scrolling floral and peony vine motifs.
The double‑happiness symbol is a traditional Chinese emblem for joy, marriage and celebration. Dense scrolling peony foliage fills the surface, executed in classic cobalt blue underglaze on off‑white porcelain ground. Comes complete with its matching fitted lid, also featuring the double‑happiness character.
This large lidded jar works wonderfully as a statement Chinoiserie decor piece for mantels, bookcases, entryways, dining rooms, or traditional‑style interiors. Can be used for display, storage, or as a decorative urn. Great for lovers of Asian antiques, blue‑and‑white porcelain, and Chinoiserie styling.
