The form is pure 18th-century Rocaille romance. The rectangular top features a refined molded and beaded edge with a delicate perimeter band, showing the beautiful, time-worn grain. The entire apron is a masterclass in French country carving: a serpentine, scalloped frieze centered with a large, hand-carved rocaille shell cartouche with fluted and pierced detailing, flanked by flowing C-scrolls and acanthus flourishes.

The table is supported by four elegant and shapely cabriole legs, each one generously carved on the knee and upper shaft with a corresponding asymmetrical rocaille cartouche and trailing foliate motifs - exactly as captured in your close-up details. The legs terminate in classic pied de biche (deer-foot) feet, adding a graceful lift.
