Oak bookcase with adjustable shelves and a storage compartment with rattan doors. Designed by Alf Svensson for Bjästa Möbelfabrik, original label present. 1960s.
Designed by Alf Svensson for Bjästa Möbelfabrik, this teak bookcase reflects the Swedish design language of the 1960s. The upper section is equipped with adjustable shelves and has a depth of 28 cm, while the lower compartment is closed by two rattan-covered hinged doors and equipped with adjustable shelves. The juxtaposition of teak and natural wicker, along with the clean lines and balanced proportions, expresses the quest for simplicity that characterizes Svensson's work for Bjästa Möbelfabrik, a Swedish company known for producing high-quality furniture during the second half of the 20th century. The original manufacturer's mark is present inside the cabinet.
