Hand-painted in Hungary, the composition captures a wonderfully expressive moment as one figure, carrying a stringed instrument, supports his companion. Rich shades of oxblood red, moss green, powder blue, ivory and warm ochre are complemented by delicate hand-painted facial and costume details.

The underside bears the blue Herend Hungary Handpainted factory mark and is hand-dated 1966.

This substantial figural group has wonderful movement and sculptural presence and displays beautifully from multiple angles.

Condition:
