Lambda Print Signed Dated, title on verso 1/8. Opton catches soldiers both on guard and off, looking out and looking inward simultaneously, and we can only imagine what they're thinking! Opton photographed 90 men and women for this series. Opton was the recipient of a 2009 Guggenheim Fellowship. Her soldier portraits, icons of the aftermath of the recent wars, have been presented as billboards in eight American cities. Her work is in many Museums Permanent collections. See less
