Early 20th-century oak display case featuring original painted glass.
Once a centerpiece in a neighborhood bakery or corner store, this oak cabinet was purpose-built to showcase fresh loaves behind glass. The upper case features a classic split-glass front, with "WARD'S" painted in patriotic red, white, and blue. A hinged rear access panel allows for restocking, while the base offers closed cabinet storage beneath the molded transition. Surviving examples with intact glasswork and signage are scarce-this piece shows age, patina, and traces of flour-dusted history. Functional, iconic, and absolutely rooted in American retail heritage.
