Dating approximately from the 1930s to the 1950s, this refined rectangular picture frame beautifully combines the more rigorous, geometric elements of Art Deco with the softer and more decorative details that became fashionable in the 1950s. Its generous proportions make it particularly well suited for displaying a large photograph commemorating a meaningful occasion, such as a wedding, or a cherished portrait of someone special. The embossed copper sheet has been strictly preserved in its naturally aged patina. As light catches the raised edges and textured surface of the metal, it creates beautiful reflections and an especially striking contrast with the black-and-white photographic image.

The frame measures: Height: 30.5 cm (12 in.) Width: 24.5 cm (9.65 in.) Depth: 2.5 cm (0.98 in.) The photo opening measures: Height: 23 cm (9.06 in.) Width: 17 cm (6.69 in.) The back of the frame is made from a thin sheet of plywood that has become gently curved over time. Despite this natural aging, it still functions perfectly for securely holding the photograph in place. The glass has recently been replaced by a trusted artisan.
