Charming pair of antique spindle-back side chairs featuring a beautifully aged dark painted finish with warm reddish-brown undertones and wonderful naturally distressed patina. Each chair has a shaped plank seat, turned legs and stretchers, delicate spindle detailing, and a decorative painted motif along the upper crest rail.
The extensive wear, crazing, and exposed layers of old finish give these chairs an authentic primitive American country character that simply cannot be replicated with a new piece. Perfect as accent chairs, displayed beside a farmhouse table, or incorporated into an English country, colonial, primitive, or collected traditional interior.
Sold as a pair. Antique condition with significant age-related wear, losses to the painted finish, scratches, and imperfections throughout, all contributing to their wonderful character and patina.
