Vintage Mid Century modern 1950’s Danish teak dining table with a rich, warm patina. Designed by renowned Danish master designer Hans Wegner. Distributed through retail house Illums Bolighus in Denmark. Comes with Dutch extension mechanism. Table length is 55 inches and 98.5 inches with both leaves extended. The leaves slide out smoothly and sit perfectly flush with the main top. Color uniformity between the main top and the leaves is in great condition. Protective pads included. The set includes 7 authentic chairs—perfect for using 6 around the table and the 7th as an accompanying desk or accent chair.
They are sculpted solid teak featuring a distinctive twin horizontal rail setup with slightly curved slats contoured for comfort. Legs are elegant tapered round legs with cross-brace support system underneath the seat. Feature a metal tag “Illums Bolighus Kobenhavn” on underside.
My father purchased this dining set on a visit to Copenhagen in the 1950's and has been in my family home ever since.
