A vintage Italian nine-drawer commode attributed to Vittorio Dassi, dating to the 1950s. The long, low cabinet is distinguished by its figured wood veneer, arranged in a graphic chevron pattern across the drawer fronts, with a dark molded surround, brass ring pulls and a glass top.
The combination of decorative veneer work, brass and glass reflects the refined character of Italian cabinetmaking from the period and is closely associated with Dassi’s postwar furniture.
Carefully sourced in Italy and restored in-house at our gallery in Rabat. The wooden structure and veneer were inspected and preserved wherever possible, with refinishing carried out only where required. Brass and glass elements were retained and carefully treated. Minor age-related traces remain consistent with the period and are documented in the photographs. Professionally packed for secure international delivery.
