A charming continental figural table lamp, most likely Austrian, dating to circa 1920. The sculptural porcelain composition depicts two figures beneath an elaborate domed shade, creating an unusual and highly decorative lamp with wonderful old world character.
The exceptional shade is the highlight of the piece, constructed with rows of sparkling Austrian crystal beads and elongated crystal drops suspended from a gilt metal framework. The base is finished with decorative bronze ormolu mounts.
The lamp is unsigned. It remains in good antique condition with minor age related imperfections to the figural group that are not particularly noticeable when displayed.
Remarkably, the crystal shade remains in excellent condition. The lamp is working and has been fitted with a new plug.
