The collection consists of 18 larger goblets and 18 smaller wine glasses, creating a beautifully coordinated service for up to 18 place settings.

Carina is distinguished by its graceful proportions and wonderfully faceted stems, which catch and refract light with remarkable brilliance. Above each geometric stem sits a beautifully balanced, gently rounded crystal bowl, creating a design that feels refined and traditional while retaining the restrained sophistication associated with Scandinavian modern glass.

The effect on a dining table is especially striking. Candlelight and natural light play across the cut facets of the stems, creating flashes of reflected light while preserving the elegant simplicity of the overall form.

The larger glasses are wonderfully versatile and may be used as water goblets, wine goblets, or for larger-format cocktails, while the smaller glasses are particularly well suited to white wine, aperitifs, or dessert wine. Together, the two sizes create an exceptionally handsome formal table setting.

Designed by Ingeborg Lundin, one of the most important figures in 20th-century Swedish glass design, Carina reflects her ability to combine elegant traditional forms with the clarity and restraint of Scandinavian modernism. Lundin joined Orrefors in 1947 and became one of the company's influential designers during the mid-20th century.

This service was originally purchased by my mother in Sweden during trips home in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was carefully kept as part of a coordinated formal dinner service.
