A beautiful and rare Czech-style costume brooch from the Art Deco/Retro era, featuring a highly desirable functional design. The front showcase a stunning cluster of open-back, prong-set sapphire blue glass rhinestones. These vibrant, faceted stones are beautifully arranged alongside smaller round blue chatons and an intricate antiqued base detailed with textured leaves and floral stampings.
The reverse side features a unique and fully functional pierced "perfume cage" or vinaigrette compartment. Historically used to hold a small piece of scent-soaked cloth or cotton, this wonderful piece beautifully merges elegant craftsmanship with historic utility.
