A luminous and beautifully preserved limited-edition serigraph by Eva Holusa Makk (b. 1933), the internationally exhibited painter celebrated for her radiant Impressionist compositions, expressive use of color, and graceful figurative subjects.
Titled Realities of Joy, this enchanting composition depicts a woman and two children gathered beside a tranquil pond within an idyllic garden landscape. Swans glide across the water while an arched bridge and cascading foliage recede into the background, creating a scene that feels at once intimate, romantic, and dreamlike.
Makk’s characteristic handling of light and color is especially appealing here. Layers of emerald, sage, cerulean, soft rose, cream, and warm earth tones are built through energetic, painterly passages that give the serigraph remarkable depth and the visual richness of an original painting.
The work is hand-signed in pencil by Eva Makk at the lower right and hand-numbered 69/275 at the lower left. An embossed circular blindstamp is present in the paper, with the additional registry or production marking 38-0127 appearing on the reverse.
Eva Makk enjoyed a distinguished international career spanning more than half a century. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and abroad, including presentations at the U.S. Senate Rotunda and Carnegie International Center, and she is particularly recognized for luminous Impressionist landscapes, figurative compositions, portraiture, and monumental mural work.
This example is exceptionally well preserved, with clean margins and strong, vibrant color. It is beautifully presented in custom French matting, featuring a muted sage outer field, layered cream and taupe borders, fine ruled accents, and elegant stepped corner detailing. The tailored French-line treatment echoes the soft greens and warm neutrals of the composition and gives the work a polished, gallery-quality presence even without a frame.
The print is offered professionally matted and unframed, allowing the next owner to select a frame suited to their own interior while retaining the distinctive custom French matting already in place.
Please note: Several styled room images are included to illustrate possible framing and placement options. The artwork is being sold matted and unframed, exactly as shown in the non-staged photographs. Additional photographs and video are available upon request.
