A striking 19th/20th-century black-enameled cast iron amphora urn, possibly American, with an elongated Neoclassical silhouette, tall architectural handles, and a continuous Greek key band encircling the body. At 37.5″ high, the urn has unusual vertical presence while retaining an elegant, narrow profile.
The spare geometry and weathered black surface give the piece an almost archaeological quality, particularly where age-related losses reveal warmer iron tones beneath. From an Important Collection of Architectural Design, New York City.
