The set includes a wide bowl, vase model 4039/18, and the taller obelisk-shaped vase model 4012/24, dated 1994 — spanning a low horizontal form and two upright vase shapes. Drexler's glaze shifts between violet, gold, green and rose depending on the light, giving each piece a soft, iridescent finish across the satin surface.

van loon's porcelain forms for rosenthal in the 1990s are among the most three-dimensional and tactile shapes produced for studio linie, with folded, curved surfaces rather than symmetrical or geometric outlines. This collaboration with drexler is considered a high point of the line's output.
