One of ekström’s distinctive scandinavian seating designs, the dymling is characterized by its substantial exposed pine construction, relaxed seating position and expressive structural detailing. The beautifully figured solid pine frame features broad architectural members and distinctive circular wooden joint details that emphasize the craftsmanship and construction of the piece. Three individually constructed seat and back sections sit within the long architectural frame. The open rear construction is particularly striking, making the sofa an excellent choice for placement in the center of a room where it can be appreciated from every angle. The sofa retains its original burned-in manufacturer’s mark reading “swedese / design yngve ekström / made in sweden,” providing clear attribution to both designer and manufacturer.
