This striking sculptural piece combines a massive black glass body with a highly polished surface, contrasting the clear glass and vibrant red interior element. A strong geometric shape and a dramatic red, black and transparent composition are characteristic of the modernist decorative glass produced by princ art glass.

the vase is signed by pavel havelka and retains its original prince art glass label which reads "princ art glass - made in the czech republic". Havelka worked as a glass artist, and later as a master glazier and production manager at glass art princ from 1999 to 2008, where he designed decorative and ground glass. His works are presented in museums and galleries, including the museum of decorative arts in prague.
