The bakelite top unscrews to remove the bulb. The light has been rewired with new components and can be used as a pendant or desk lamp. It retains the makers mark embossed into the top, wm. Mcgeoch & co. Ltd., a long-established british firm of wholesale ironmongers, electrical engineers, and marine/industrial lighting manufacturers founded in glasgow in 1832. Pattern 17208 built to british admiralty or ministry of defence pattern specifications for naval and maritime use. Dimensions: height: cm diameter:cm circa: 1930s origin: portsmouth, united kingdom workshop report: the light has been left in its original condition, the wood and metal work will have age related markings. The lamp has new ce certified electrical fittings, a e27 (screw) bulb holder. Please advise when ordering if this will be used as a desktop or pendant and we will supply an inline on/off switch and 3amp 3 pin plug if required.
