A set of seven Japanese Kiri-Mon lusterware serving dish set. Made of porcelain and arranged to fit six dishes around a central round dish. The hand painted design depicts red-throated bee-eater birds perched on cherry blossom branches against a pearlescent white background. Dishes have ribbon wave sides decorated with an iridescent blue. Marked underneath with the Kiri-Mon mark featuring the leaves and flowers of the Paulownia imperialis. Comes with the original red storage box, hand painted with daffodils and marked "Made in Japan" underneath.
Kiri-Mon lusterware ceramics were produced in Gifu Prefecture in Japan from the 1920's through to the 1950's.
