Louis Icart (French, 1888-1950), Speed (Vitesse), colored etching on paper depicting a fashionably dressed female figure in flowing garments reminiscent of the Venus of Samothrace marble, being pulled at full stride by two racing Borzoi (Greyhound family) hounds, rendered in Icart's signature Art Deco style with sweeping lines and dramatic movement. Pencil signed "Louis Icart" lower right, numbered lower left, with an embossed blindstamp and the printed copyright inscription in the upper left margin. Approximate plate size: 16" x 25". Sheet 20 3/4 x 29 7/8 inches
Rag matted, archival frame with UV inhibiting plexiglass glazing and presented in a white gold gilded 3" frame, overall dimensions 37 x 1 x 45 inches.
The print has full margins, crisp clean lines, has been archivally treated to remove any acidity and has a Ph 7.6. It is in very good to excellent condition and is of museum quality.
